NC School Board Candidate calls Tea Party Treasonous and Immoral!!

THE EMAIL BELOW WAS SENT out by Del Turner, who happens to be running for School Board in Chatham County.  She also runs Chatham Organizing for America, otherwise known as the “Obama Worshippers” .  Ms. Turner was responsibile for using Blaike Bibbs, a child, to support the progressive agenda of Obamacare at the recent rally in front of Bob Etheridge’s office in Raleigh. (see video of Obama Worshippers in action – neglecting to show the 100 counter protesters across the street).  It is interesting that a candidate for school board supports this child missing school for this event.  Will all the children in Chatham be next... »»MORE

Reforming Insurance across all industries is now necessary by Dr Ada Fisher

POSTED WITH PERMISSION FOR DR Fisher Love him or not, I have to give it to Mr. Obama who has artfully shifted the Health Care debate to insurability from access and affordability which his legislation on health care is also not about.  Risk assessment and coverage are a major concern in providing insurance coverage to everyone or in mitigating against financial losses in most situations.  With health care eliminating increased costs based on risk, controlling access and costs are much trickier than is appreciated by John Q public or legislators. If people continue to engage in slovenly behavior such as smoking,... »»MORE

    If Not Now, When?

AS I WATCHED THE VIDEO below, I cannot help but wonder if it has been edited. If this is the caliber of our politicians, who is to blame? Our elections are being bought or stolen with voter fraud. We the People sit and watch television or listen to the radio and hope that everything will be fine after the next election cycle.  Does everything look like it will be fine? As we focus our efforts on the passage of health care "reform" using illegal procedures, the government is working on legislation for Cap & Trade, Immigration, Fishing control, Gun control,... »»MORE

Wake County Commissioners to Vote on Elective Abortion Coverage

AFTER WEEKS OF COMPLAINTS FROM pro-choice advocates about partisan ties between Republicans on the Wake County Board of Commissioners and a pro-life state legislator, Wake County Democratic Party Chairman Jack Nichols has joined forces with liberal commissioners to reinstate coverage for elective abortions in the county’s employee health insurance plan. Nichols, who also works as an attorney for Planned Parenthood Health Systems in Raleigh, drafted a resolution (PDF download) that commissioners will vote up or down at Monday’s commission meeting. The resolution would reverse a decision by county administrators in February to nix taxpayer-funded elective abortion coverage from their standard... »»MORE

The 10 Worst Provisions in the Senate Health Care Bill

WHILE IT WOULD APPEAR THAT the health care bill is constantly changing, it's actually not. The big upcoming House vote will be on the Senate bill (H.R. 3590), exactly as it passed the Senate on Christmas Eve. It still includes dozens of corrupt special-interest deals like the Cornhusker Kickback, the Louisiana Purchase, Chris Dodd's $100M University of Connecticut Hospital earmark, etc. There are a lot of promises being made right now that the bill will be fixed or improved in various ways after it passes, possibly via reconciliation. It's very important to understand, however, that once the House passes the... »»MORE

    The Job of Government

RECENTLY, I RECEIVED AN E-MAIL from Patients First regarding President Obama’s March 3rd speech to the press and to the American people which called on Congress to provide quick and decisive action on Health Care Reform legislation. The President asked Congress to break Senate rules by using reconciliation, a simple majority rules process used for budget bills, to pass the non-budget, Health Care Reform legislation. The e-mail presented the facts about the legislation and called on the recipients to contact their members of Congress. The effects of this legislation would be so detrimental to our nation’s economy and our personal... »»MORE

WHO ARE WE ? WHAT HOLDS US TOGETHER ? (PART 2)

LAST YEAR I POSTED A suggestion that we examine ourselves in order to enhance our sense of purpose and expand our community.  I asked: “What are the essential threads of philosophy that bind us in common cause?  What do we believe and how do we make our belief explicit?  Can we state our beliefs so clearly and concisely that they function as a beacon to attract and retain conservative patriots in our cause?” I wanted us to understand what makes us more alike than different.  I shared my “beliefs” in the post Who Are We? What Holds Us Together? (Part... »»MORE

Pay to Play – Basnight Contributors Receive Grants from Agencies with Basnight Appointees

THE COMPANIES OF HOBBS UPCHURCH and Atlantic Corp are two of Marc Basnight’s biggest contributors.  Atlantic Packaging Corp, based in Wilmington, is owned by Rusty Carter.  His son Wes Carter works for Hobbs Upchurch & Associates, an Engineering firm based in Southern Pines.  Rusty Carter, if you remember, is a friend of Mike Easley and was subpoenaed to the Board of Elections in connection with his contributions to Easley. In 2008, the employees and family members of these two companies contributed $120,000 to Basnight’s campaign.  What is odd is that extraordinary contributions are made by ordinary people with ordinary jobs. ... »»MORE

    Civilians in Crosshairs Slow Troops

THIS IS A PARTIAL REPRINT from the Wall Street Journal. New Bern KTM member Peggy Ramthun's son Alex is in the top photograph in the article. MARJAH, Afghanistan—As Capt. Anthony Zinni monitored a live video feed from a Predator drone circling overhead, he spotted four men planting a booby trap in the middle of the road here. For Capt. Zinni, one of the officers responsible for approving airstrikes in the nine-day-old battle for Marjah, it seemed like an easy call: The men were digging a hole alongside a road where a Marine supply convoy was scheduled to pass within hours.... »»MORE

FOXNews.com Outlines the Importance of Doctors in Government (Dr. Dan Eichenbaum)

WE NEED A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE, AND THE SENATE By C.L. Gray, M.D. - FOXNews.com Historically, practicing physicians have shunned politics. If our democracy is to survive, these times demand thoughtful solutions and difficult decisions. Few individuals are better suited to the task than the Hippocratic physician. Behind the scenes, a quiet and unassuming movement is afoot destined to reshape the future of American health care—and possibly the entire landscape of American politics. The House currently has fourteen physicians. The Senate has two. This means less than 3% of our elected officials in Washington come from one of the... »»MORE

Basnight puts the Brakes on U. S. History Curriculum Change

THE WASHINGTON DAILY NEWS IS reporting that Senator Basnight sent a letter to the NC DPI and the State Board of Education voicing his strong opposition to the proposed changes to the U. S. History curriculum.  He says that there should be more study of this period, not less.  According the Washington Daily News, Basnight’s letter reads, in part, “Any changes the state makes to teaching U.S. History must be an enhancement to what students learn in high school and not downshifting in any way. Guest Op-ed: The Big, the Bad, and the Ugly

SATURDAY, JANUARY 30, 2010. WE have had a multitude of conservative sites and organizations springing up faster than Harry Reid can cut a backroom deal for a vote. Americans are finally focusing on the United States Congress, the politicians, and the media, all with the intent to undo some of the damage caused from years of citizen neglect. Big government is growing faster and faster with the national debt of the United States today exceeding $12 Trillion—and there is no end in sight.  When the majority of citizens choose to vote for representatives who promise them the most benefits from... »»MORE

    State of the Union

I’LL BE THE FIRST TO agree that the president is a good public speaker (if the teleprompter is available), and the recent State of the Union speech is no different in that regard until you start examining what he actually said. To paraphrase Joe Wilson, “he stretches the truth.” To give credit where credit is due, he promised during the campaign to fundamentally change this nation, and he’s definitely doing that. We’re in deep water financially, and the Constitution is a forgotten document. With all the social justice dealings, he’s doing all he can to redistribute the wealth. That’s hope... »»MORE
