NCFreedom’s First Year
Most of us reading this article consider ourselves one or more of the following:
- Conservative
- Tea Party member
- 912 member
- Other grass roots affiliated group member
If you have heard me speak across the state, I call myself a patriot. The best thing about this label is that there is little ambiguity concerning its meaning. I started NCFreedom one year ago as a website to provide information about North Carolina’s political environment. I recently have been told that NCFreedom is a baby organization in the sense that is it just starting up. Most people do not realize that NCFreedom started before Rick Santelli’s Tea Party speech on February 19th, 2009 or Glenn Beck’s 912 Project on March 13th, 2009.
As what happens in many endeavors, the direction evolved to become a state wide communications network on May 29th when the first Asheville Convention was held and the site was turned over to a state board of directors. The focus was not really changed since we were still a communications network for the associated groups who joined together to have a larger, coordinated impact across the state.
I enjoy being one of the editors for the website but I really never looked back too often since there was so much work to do in front of us. There is a difference in being an editor and being a proactive patriot. It has been said that I do not even have a group of people to lead. That statement is completely true. Since last April, I have had the extreme honor to be part of a team of patriots in the truest sense of the word. We call ourselves the NCFreedom Triangle Steering Committee – sometimes. This committee is not concerned with titles, egos, political ambition, personal gain or leadership. We are concerned with saving the country. Period. Each one of us understands that “life, fortune and personal honor” is what our founding fathers pledged to ensure our freedom. We also know that our freedom is at risk and we understand what we have to also pledge. This group of people have become more than friends and have been tested by trials of fire that have tempered our resolve.
So on this anniversary, I want to review some of the accomplishments of this group in which I do not lead but serve.
- Protests and Counter Protests: Kay Hagan, Health Care, Obama ABC infomercial, Can You Hear Us Now, End the Fed, Brad Miller, Illegal Aliens and a few assorted forays into enemy camps
- Two town halls
- July 4th Tea Party
- Two rolling tea parties
- Over 25 YouTube videos
- Top three videos on the912project.com in early November
- Top Breitbart video in the country for Can You Hear Us Now protest
- 912 Washington Rally
- Michele Bachmann Rally
- Over 25 group presentations across the state
- Coordinated and help launch the first group meetings in Albemarle, Benson, Concord, High Point, Murphy, New Bern and Southern Pines
- Launched the RollingTeaParty.com website
You can see some of the videos for these events at http://ncfreedom.us/media.
Now this list is not meant to leave any other group’s achievements out or to make a contest out of our efforts. It is meant to show that a small group can accomplish great results with no funding and a lot of patriotism. Combine this list with the accomplishments of all of the groups across the state in the past year and North Carolina is a shining star for restoring our country.
The point is that “We the People” is a force that can achieve great success. We have to remember that it is “We the People” and not “I am your Leader”. I encourage everyone reading this article to review the following information: http://ncfreedom.us/about/. If we do not act in a selfless manner to restore our country, we will be condemning our children to be either slaves or to become nothing more than the self serving people who have brought our country to its knees.
Although NCFreedom is one year old, NONE of its success can be attributed to one individual or group. I wish to thank every group who is part of NCFreedom for their efforts in the past year. This success can be seen on the main page of the site right now when you see the different individuals who are posting articles from across the state.
Thank you,
David DeGerolamo

I am proud to be your fellow patriot. Looking forward to taking back our state and our country. It won't be easy, but if everyones does what they can…we can do it.
oops – "everyone"
YES WE ARE and YES WE CAN!!!! We are "WE THE PEOPLE"!
What a busy year it has been, I too am proud to be your fellow patriot and know the work ahead will hard but together we all can do this.
We stand tall under the NCFreedom umbrella as one thing North Carolina can be proud of. There are so many negative things we lead the nation in, high taxes, high deficits, worst at getting others on the ballot, etc., that it is an honor to be part of the movement to take our country back that leads the nation. Tally ho, patriots.
Rock on NC Freedom

My friend mentioned to me your site, so I thought I’d check it out. Very interesting insights, will be back for more!
I couldn’t have written this post any better, literally. Another BA post, keep up the good work.
