The city of King is at it again. The city counsel voted 3 to 1 on Wednesday to remove the Christian flag from the Veterans Memorial at Central Park. The flag came down on Thursday. The decision was made after the counsel received threats of a potential lawsuit from the ACLU and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, who cited that the flag violated the Establishment Clause of the 1st amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
Nothing is official at this time, but an event is currently being organized by Pastor Broyhill of Calvary Baptist Church in King (336-983-3728) along with others in order to rectify the situation.

Are we a Christian Nation or not? Our founding fathers were Christian and our pledge of allegiance states "UNDER GOD". The birth of Jesus is a national holiday. A Socialist government must control the people and the last step to accomplish this is to destroy religion. How can you have the state provide for you from cradle to grave if you trust in the Lord with all thine heart?
David, I think if most Christians really understood the magnitude of what you just said, we would all be able to successfully rise up against these evils. Unfortunately the evils will have to continue increasing before the scales will tip. It is certain that these coming days will prove quite interesting.
So we begin to see that the church is reaping what it has sown. I think that I will go with Jeremiah instead of the false prophets. In other words, we may not like the message but that does not change the peril that our country is facing by listening to our rulers in Washington and Raleigh.
We all need to stand with this church, veteran's group and citizens. Or soon all of our rights will be taken away.
I will stand with any church that stands up for the Lord. The problem is that our clergy are a large part of our problems. When we challenge our ministers and pastors to stand up and not hide behind the false 501(C)3 cover, we will see the beginning of our country's restoration.
