Pulpit Freedom Sunday has Christian leaders challenge government censorship

The 5000 Year Leap explains the proper role of the church in our country in two points:

1. The clergy is responsible for making moral and virtuous citizens. By extension, this means that our politicians will be moral and virtuous if the church is doing its job.

2. Clergy will not run for political office: this is the separation of church and state. The current definition is a progressive definition that the church is willing to accept.

Our country’s problems are three-fold: government, church and education. Is Pulpit Freedom Sunday the first step for the church to stand up and fulfull their proper role in our country? As a reminder, the British did not call our war for independence the American Revolution, they called it the Presbyterian Rebellion.

At least 100, and perhaps as many as several hundred, Christian pastors on Sunday will speak out on biblical issues and the political candidates on the November election ballot in direct violation of Internal Revenue Service regulations.

Then they’ll package up recordings or transcripts of their sermons and send them to the IRS, with a dare to the government agency to come after them for their comments.

Ministers, although smaller in numbers, have done exactly that for the last two years. But of all the direct violations of the IRS ban on ministers addressing politics from their pulpits, only one investigation was begun, and it was dropped almost immediately, according to Kevin Theriot, a senior counsel for the Alliance Defense Fund, which is organizing this year’s Pulpit Freedom Sunday.

  1. Clergy will not run for political office: this is the separation of church and state. The current definition is a progressive definition that the church is willing to accept.

There is NO Constitutional clause "seperation of church and state and millions are sick and tired of this DANGEROUS fable and also couldn't care anyless about Jefferson's statement. It does not exist, in our Constitution or anyplace else, it is NOT insinuated either. This IS UNACCEPTABLE.
And yes,The Church has the right to speak, preach and teach exactly why or why not a politician is appropriate-freedom of speech never ended at the door.
