The Founding Fathers Underestimated the People’s Expectation for Freedom

The founding fathers made a serious mistake in their assumptions concerning the rights of the states superseding the rights of a central federal government unless specified in Article 1, Section 8. This was a valid concern for the states while they deliberated over the ratification of the Constitution. This concern was addressed in Federalist Paper 46 by James Madison. Their assumption was the premise that only a large standing army could take away our individual state’s rights. Our states’ rights have been reduced and virtually nullified over a period of time: the main weapon being used is not the military but debt. If you force states to accept stimulus money with conditions on how the state must run its internal government, you do not need the military take over control of the states. The secondary means to control us is through individual bribery: the people are told that it is our “right” to have health care, social security, guaranteed pensions, etc. Once the people believe these “rights”, we have sold morals and future to tyranny. What Happened to Your Country’s Morality and Financial Stability?

How can we restore our country without knowledge. Misinformation is presented as truth and documented facts are discredited as lies. Where do you start (or continue) your education to become aware of what is true and more importantly, what is moral? And where do you start to read concepts that will make you question what you believe to be true? Here are the three books that everyone should read.  Read more »

Obamaisms?

While our president is enjoying his sixth vacation this year, he did have some time to give an interview with the following two quotes.

“I can’t spend all my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead,” he added. “The facts are the facts.”

Although the Certificate of Live Birth has been released, this is not a birth certificate. When I went to the hawaii.gov website, I found two interesting facts. The first is a section devoted to questions concerning the president’s COLB. I don’t care about this issue until after the midterm elections. When the Republicans take back the House of Representatives, they are planning a series of investigations concerning this administration’s actions. What most people do not know is that if the president is declared to not be a legal citizen and he steps down (as opposed to staying and being a “usurper”), the vice president also is removed as the election would be declared invalid. All legislation signed into law during his term becomes invalid. However, this also means that the Speaker of the House becomes the President.  It is possible that the next Speaker will become the next President. The second interesting fact is that our president is referred to as President Barack Hussein Obama II on the site. So he was first Barack Hussein Obama II (COLB), then Barry Soetoro and now the politically correct Barack Obama.

Concerning Glenn Beck’s Restoring Honor Rally:

“It’s not surprising that somebody like a Mr. Beck is able to stir up a certain portion of the country. That’s been true throughout our history,” he said. But “what I’m focused on is making sure that the decisions we’re making now are going to  be not good for the nightly news, not good even necessarily  for the next election, but are good for the next generation.”

The rally speaks for itself as does our president’s quotes. What would happen if the president actually called “a Mr. Beck” on his red phone and disputed some of the “facts” that he presents unchallenged on most shows every weekday? As far as his decisions that will be good for the next generation, click here.

I was thinking about the T-shirt that I saw at the rally with a picture of George Bush asking if we miss him yet. I remembered the term Bushisms for his misstatements and took a chance on Google with a search for Obamaisms. Here is one of the 18,500 results.

More Examples:

10. “No, no. I have been practicing…I bowled a 129. It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something.” –making an off-hand joke during an appearance on “The Tonight Show”, March 19, 2009 (Obama later called the head of the Special Olympics to apologize)

9. “I didn’t want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about doing any seances.” -–after saying he had spoken with all the living presidents as he prepared to take office, Washington, D.C., Nov. 7, 2008 (Obama later called Nancy Reagan to apologize)

8. “The reforms we seek would bring greater competition, choice, savings and inefficiencies to our health care system.” –in remarks after a health care roundtable with physicians, nurses and health care

7. “What I was suggesting — you’re absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith…” –in an interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, who jumped in to correct Obama by saying “your Christian faith,” which Obama quickly clarified, Sept. 7, 2008

6. “UPS and FedEx are doing just fine, right? It’s the Post Office that’s always having problems.” –attempting to make the case for government-run healthcare, while simultaneously undercutting his own argument, Portsmouth, N.H., Aug. 11, 2009

5. “I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” — defending his tax plan to Joe the Plumber, who argued that Obama’s policy hurts small-business owners like himself, Toledo, Ohio, Oct. 12, 2008

4. “The Cambridge police acted stupidly.” —commenting on a white police officer’s arrest of black scholar Henry Louis Gates Jr. at his home in Cambridge, Mass., at a news conference, July 22, 2009. Obama later had to convene a “Beer Summit” at the White House to help tamp down the controversy stirred by his remark

3. “It’s not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.” –speaking at a San Francisco fundraiser about his troubles winning over some small-town, working-class voters, April 11, 2008

2. “One such translator was an American of Haitian descent, representative of the extraordinary work that our men and women in uniform do all around the world — Navy Corpse-Man Christian Brossard.” –mispronouncing “Corpsman” (the “ps” is silent) during a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, Washington, D.C., Feb. 5, 2010 (The Corpsman’s name is also Christopher, not Christian)

1. “I’ve now been in 57 states — I think one left to go.” —at a campaign event in Beaverton, Oregon, May 9, 2008

Is It Time to Get the Lead Out?

Since the government suspended this petition on Friday, August 27, never mind.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is gathering information from the public before enacting a ban on all traditional (lead) ammunition under the Toxic Substance Control Act of 1976, a law in which Congress expressly exempted ammunition. You can submit your comments through October 31, 2010 by clicking here. Read more »

Reorganizing for America – No Truth in Government

Organizing for America
Friend –

This fall, there’s a lot at stake.

For two years, the Republicans have said “no” over and over to legislation that would help Americans — no to extending unemployment benefits, no to creating jobs, no to the Recovery Act.

But that’s not enough — if the Republicans take back Congress, they’ve pledged to repeal health insurance reform and pursue policies that would end Social Security and Medicare as we know them.

They’re convening in Washington, D.C., with Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin this weekend. Palin has said that the plan for keeping taxes low for the middle class so they can stimulate the economy, while repealing fiscally irresponsible tax cuts for the wealthiest 2%, is “idiotic.” And Beck said last week of some of those who are unemployed, “you’d be ashamed to call them Americans.”

These are the folks that the Republican party draws its energy and ideas from. But we have a much better source — you.

That’s why, this weekend, OFA volunteers are going door to door across the country to make sure your voice is heard.

There’s an event in Cary this Saturday — and I hope you can join us.

We’re talking to folks in small towns and big cities, focusing on voters who turned out for the first time in 2008 to cast their ballot for Barack Obama.

And we’re going to make sure as many as possible of these voters commit to going to the polls again this fall.

We’ve got an ambitious goal — 200,000 doors knocked across the country.

But to meet that goal, we need 201 more volunteers in North Carolina.

Here are the details for the event in Cary:

What: Moving America Forward Day of Action event

Where: E Chatham and Academy
Cary, NC 27513

When: Saturday, August 28th
8:30 AM

Can you make it?

Yes, I’ll be there.

Sorry, I can’t make it.

No, but I’d like to find another event near me.

You see the progress we’re making every day: as new provisions in the Affordable Care Act take effect, as federal funding saves the jobs of police officers and firefighters in North Carolina, and as the brave men and women of the armed forces return from Iraq.

But to continue this progress, we need to elect Democrats who will stand with the President and fight for change that matters, not Washington Republicans and extreme Tea Party leaders who want to repeal all our hard work.

Join us in Cary to help us reach out to North Carolina voters about the importance of voting this fall:

Let’s get to work,

North Carolina Budget Crisis

Our state of North Carolina is facing at least a $3 billion deficit. What does this mean in a state that is required to have a balanced budget? We have three choices or I should say the general assembly has three choices:

1. Cut spending
2. Raise taxes and/or keep the temporary taxes set to expire in place
3. A combination of 1 and 2 Read more »

Get Ready for the Crash

Shore Bank in Illinois has been the subject of a major scandal since the beginning of May. Today without any fan fare, this bank has been closed down by the FDIC. The cost to the taxpayers is on $367 Million since the FDIC is broke and all of the bank foreclosures are another example of Redistributive Bailout Initiatives (RBIs) by the administration.

There is no need to review the performance of the stock market over the past two weeks. Even George Soros, who is the penultimate villain, has sold off a substantial portion of his equity position since March. What is in store for the stock market? Look no further than proven, historical analytical methods and it appears that we are headed for a crash by the end of October. And where is the Federal Reserve? I wonder if they are on vacation like Congress and our president.

David DeGerolamo

Here is the article for the Soros selloff:

The recent stock market swoon seems to have shaken the confidence of George Soros’s fund management company.

Soros Fund Management just cleaved its equities exposure by 42%, to $5.1billion as of end-June from $8.8 at end-March.

Telegraph:

Gone are Soros’s investments in Petrobras, Brazil’s oil giant, with investments in bellwether stocks such as Wal-Mart, JP Morgan Chase and Pfizer drastically reduced, cut by 99pc, 97pc and 95pc respectively.

Of those equities that do remain, the fund’s holding in a gold exchange traded fund constitutes his largest investment, some 13pc of the equity portfolio, worth $638m.

As a refresher, keep in mind this is the man who said that gold was the ‘ultimate bubble‘, but that when he sees bubbles he buys them. In his eyes at least, we guess stocks aren’t a bubble after all… or a bubble just about to burst. One or the other.

CBS Wants Your Opinion of a Failed Presidency

CBS News is conducting a poll to grade president Obama in several categories. You can click here if you want to take the poll. I would not have expected the overwhelming negatives (D and Fs) from people visiting what I would consider to be a liberal news outlet. Except for his grades for handling the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the negatives were over 75% in every other category. If this is indicative of how Americans feel about this president, why aren’t we out in the streets? Read more »

Another RBI for the Administration – FDIC Model Safe Accounts Pilot

The FDIC is launching a new pilot progam aimed to help underserved by the banking industry. This is another Redistributive Bailout Initiative or RBI. According to the government, 25% of all households are now underserved and they intend to “help” them as outlined in the article below direct from the FDIC website.

I have highlighted some portions below in red. I especially liked the parts concerning the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) ratings for participating banks:

must currently have a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) rating of Satisfactory or better

and

Finally, an insured institution that offers these accounts within its assessment area may be eligible to receive favorable consideration under the CRA for providing community development services
