A Resolution to Preserve and Defend the United States Constitution
North Carolina Constitution
Whereas: The Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution states “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed;” and
Statement by GRNC president Paul Valone
“In the press conference held by Dianne Feinstein today, Democrats cynically promulgated myths about semi-automatic firearms they have known for decades to be false. As one of the founders of the now thirty-seven (37) organizations of the “National Coalition to Stop the Gun Ban,” representing millions of Americans, Grass Roots North Carolina refutes lies being fed to the American people. We reiterate: We will not compromise on the Feinstein proposals, and any legislator who supports them will be the target of coordinated Coalition action.”
IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED!
- Without you the Obama/Biden/Feinstein proposal is more likely to pass. Help prevent this by calling AND emailing Senators Burr and Hagan, and your US House Representative:

Citizens of Franklin County North Carolina,
As most of you are aware I attended a meeting at Fargo’s Restaurant in Zebulon some weeks back. The purpose of the meeting was simple, to provide clarification to the citizenry as to where your Sheriffs stand with regards to your 2nd Amendment Rights to Keep and Bear Arms. Particular interest was given to the possibility of any new Federal Laws and/or restrictions and how each Sheriff would react should such measures be taken. Since that community meeting I have received countless emails and letters from concerned citizens within Franklin County. In response to these concerns please allow me, as the Sheriff of Franklin County, to make the following declarations.
As the Sheriff of Franklin County North Carolina I have sworn an oath, as have the men and women who serve under me, to “Support and maintain the Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of North Carolina not inconsistent therewith”. When I swore to this oath it was not intended on my part to be merely ceremonious in nature. Those words have meaning. They represent the very basis of what makes our society different from so many others worldwide. We have established a form of Government which derives its powers from the governed, as is clearly stated in our Constitution. Our founding fathers recognized that each of us is born equally into this world with certain rights. These rights were put to paper in clear and concise wording for all to understand, even future generations.
Your Second Amendment Freedom Rally!
Federal gun control is looming; now is the time to unite…
It is time to act! US Senators and Representatives are preparing to flood Congress with proposals designed to attack your Second Amendment rights. In North Carolina, responsible gun owners will unite to show our politicians that our rights are not to be compromised! Let your voice be heard by joining the Second Amendment Freedom Rally on February 5th, 2013, at the North Carolina General Assembly. Show our elected officials that we mean business!
What: Second Amendment Freedom Rally!
- SPEAKERS: This event will feature several pro-Second Amendment legislators and guest speakers who will stand up for your rights as a gun owner.
- EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENTS: With several news organizations sure to cover the event, GRNC plans to hold a press conference where several new and exciting announcements will be made, all of which will have a directimpact on expanding your rights as a gun owner.
When: February 5th, 2013 at 12 noon
- This rally is scheduled to be held exactly when our legislators are at work and they will have no choice but to notice. Yes, you may need to make special arrangements to be there, but we can only make a difference if you attend!
- Make time to be there and make time to make a difference!
Tonight (Jan 22, 2013), a resolution to support and defend our 2nd Amendment rights in the Constitution, similar to what Beaufort County commissioners passed recently, will be introduced.
The meeting starts at 7:00 pm.

Demonstrates Anti-Gun Bias
The negligent discharge of a shotgun while being uncased Saturday at the Dixie Gun and Knife show at the fair grounds in Raleigh has made national news, and is being cynically used to fuel arguments against private party gun show sales.
Accidents Happen at Events of All Types
Perhaps we should thank the media for laying bare their anti-gun agenda: According to the Centers for Disease Control(1), accidental deaths in the United States for the most recent year tabulated include: 35,332 by motor vehicle, 33,041 by poisoning, 26,009 by falls, 3,782 by drowning, and only 606 by firearms — and it’s a safe bet that few if any of those were at gun shows. Given that more than six times as many people accidentally drown than die by gun accident, a truly unbiased media would report the hazards of water sports rather than gun shows.
Points to Keep in Mind:
1. These are minor injuries of the sort that get zero attention when it is a broken leg at a ski slope or horse show;
2. They are accidents, not intentional attacks, again indicating exploitation on the part of the media;
3. Gun owners need to stop politicians and their media conspirators from exploiting accidental mishaps in the agenda to register private gun sales with the FBI via NICS.
